International Conference on Ethics and Civilization (ETC & IC)

From May 24 to May 26, the International Conference on Ethics and Civilization was held in Nanjing, organized by the Southeast University of China. Over 200 experts and scholars from China and abroad participated in this event. Among them were Prof. Alexander N. Chumakov, Faculty of Global Processes of Moscow State University, Editor-in-Chief of the journal "Age of Globalization", and his assistant, PhD student from the Faculty of Philosophy, MSU.
During three days of the conference, participants presented thematic academic reports, conducted intercultural dialogues and discussions within parallel sessions. The central theme of the conference was "Ethics and Civilization", around which broad debates unfolded on issues such as ethics and civilization in the aging society, intercultural dialogue, and ethical aspects of new technological civilizations.
At the conference, Prof. A.N. Chumakov delivered a speech on the topic "Civilizational-Cultural Dimension of the Global World". In his presentation, he emphasized the importance of clearly distinguishing the concepts of "civilization" and "culture," and proposed his own vision of the civilizational-cultural system. Discussions also covered topics related to the development of Russian-Chinese scientific and humanitarian cooperation.
